Dr. Tamás Joó, researcher at the National Laboratory for Health Security Data-Driven Health Division, Associate Professor at the Health Services Management Training Centre (HSMTC) of Semmelweis University, and Program Director of the master's program in Data Science in Health, gave an interview to Index.hu about the benefits and risks of using artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare. He also spoke about global and Hungarian AI developments already in medical use, as well as the ongoing AI research at the HSMTC.
The conversation also highlighted the master's program in Data Science in Health, launched for the second time this year by the Health Services Management Training Centre. The program aims to train professionals skilled in managing and analyzing health data, and in the responsible application of AI in healthcare. “Artificial intelligence can rewrite the future of Hungarian healthcare not by replacing doctors, but by working with them, and this is both a healthcare and economic investment that could have a decisive impact on everyday practice in the coming years.” – Dr. Tamás Joó
