The raccoon is a popular animal due to its charming appearance, but we should not be happy about its presence, as it threatens our native species. As an invasive species, it is capable of rapid, aggressive expansion, resulting in a significant increase in its population in Hungary over the past 10 years, according to a statement from the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE).
